The Susquehanna River
Located in central Pennsylvania, the Susquehanna River originates in Cooperstown, New York, splits westward and south at Northumberland, PA, and empties into the Chesapeake Bay near Perry Point and Havre de Grace, Maryland. The Susquehanna is one of the largest non-navigable river in the world and one of the most flood-prone in the United States.

Partially funded by The Puffin Foundation, Ltd., this project, under One Water, One Story, documented the river over the course of a year, 2021-2022 from central PA to where it empties into the Chesapeake Bay in MD. It documented the aftermath of Hurricane Ida and extreme low flows that exposed potholes (igneous rock boulders seen only during these low water flow conditions) at Falmouth, PA. Two photographic portfolios were created for the grant. One is in the documentary vein and the other is more creative for fine art. A short of the river is in the works.
