Welcome. I began my career as a scientist, earning a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi in Environmental Science and Chemistry with a minor in Technical and Professional Writing. After a few years, I returned to school to earn my Master of Science degree in Environmental Pollution Control with a minor in Ecology from the Pennsylvania State University. Working as an environmental research scientist in the environmental engineering field, I learned things I never dreamed about. But, I felt there was more to working in a lab and occasionally be outside waiting for the rain to come or wading in a stream with snow on the ground. Hence, I decided to trade in the lab for a studio and waiting for rain to taking pictures in the rain...and cold. My path led me to Hallmark Institute of Photography. There, I studied under the direction of Canon’s Explorer of Light portrait photographer Gregory Heisler, fashion photographer David Turner, and commercial photographer Dick D’Alessandro among other talented instructors. I understand lighting techniques in both the portrait and commercial studios as well as on-location lighting using both ambient lighting and strobes individually and in conjunction with each other. Most of my work centers on a broad range of commercial photography including food, architecture, travel, advertising, jewelry, and catalog. I do corporate, marketing, and aerial photography as well. My fine art comprises photographs of landscapes, seascapes, and travel.
